Seniors Maddie and Shelby Honored

Penn State Behrend Women's soccer senior captains Maddie Monte and Shelby Lloyd were honored  this past week at Penn State Behrend's 65th annual Honors and Award Convocation. Shelby Lloyd was presented with the Female Athlete of the Year award. Its been 15 years since a PSB Women's soccer play has won this award. Shelby ended her career at Penn State Behrend with 12 goals, 3 assists and started all four years during her career. Maddie Monte was presented with the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. Maddie started all four years, will graduate with a 3.7  gpa and was the anchor on defense during her time at Penn State Behrend. The last time this award was won by a Penn State Behrend Women's soccer player was 12 years ago. The Penn State Behrend soccer community thanks Shelby and Maddie for their hard work on and off the soccer field.

2015 Schedule Released!




Here is the schedule for the Behrend Lions in the upcoming fall 2015 season. We lead off the year with our annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament followed by a Fredonia Tournament. We are looking to complete our 5th consecutive championship season and hope to continue to see great support from our fans and alums!

PSB Prospect Camp



This year we will be hosting our 2015 ID Clinic this summer on June 28th.  This clinic gives you a great opportunity to train in our brand new $4 million turf stadium, compete at a high level, and get coached by Penn State Behrend Head Women’s Soccer Coach Patrick O’Driscoll.  We will only be having one clinic this summer so don’t miss out on this great opportunity!  Hope to see you there!

2014 Award Winners

The 2014 team award winners were named at our banquet this weekend at The Brew Pub. These awards are voted on by the team. The 2014 award winners are as follows:

 Most Improved Player: Caroline Mashyna 
 Rookie of the Year: Olivia Belack
 Scholar/Leadership: Maddie Monte

Penn State Behrend Women's Soccer Recognized

The Penn State Behrend Women's Soccer team was congratulated this past Saturday during halftime of the PSB Women's home basketball game. The lady Lions finished the season AMCC champions, holding a 16-6-1 record.

Following the halftime recognition, friends and family headed to the Station House Brew Pub located in downtown Erie for dinner. The reception included heartfelt speeches from seniors Shelby Lloyd and Maddie Monte about their four championship seasons at Penn State Behrend. The seniors speeches were followed by a few kind words and encouragement from Dr. Webb, who is a member of the Penn State Behrend Soccer alumni and current professor at Allegheny College. Coach O'Driscoll ended the evening with a recap of the 2014 season and a thanks to all the players, friends and family members involved in the program.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Penn State Behrend Women's soccer program this season, we look forward to seeing everyone this spring and fall season!

PSB Women's Soccer Excels Inside the Classroom

Eight Penn State Behrend Women's Soccer Players have been named to the Penn State University Dean's List. The following eight players were selected to the Dean's List for their extraordinary performances inside the classroom during the fall 2014 semester/season: Mckenna Aleksivich (3.71), Olivia Belack (3.98), Jordan Oberlander (3.67), Kathryn Powers (3.53), Lia Vinciguerra (3.77), Maddie Monte (3.67), Kiley Ransbury (3.83), Taylor Troyan (3.51).

Along with the eight players selected to the Penn State University Dean's List, eighteen players recorded a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall 2014 semester. Penn State Behrend Women's Soccer ended the fall season/semester with an overall 3.1 team GPA. PSB is also proud to obtain a cumulative 3.2 team GPA, with eighteen players recording a 3.0 GPA or higher.

The PSB Women's Soccer team, along with the rest of the Penn State Behrend community is always proud to announce such accomplishments and take pride in our players performances inside the classroom.
