PSB Women's Soccer To NYC in 2014

 

 

 

 

Looking forward to the 2014 season the Penn State Behrend Women's soccer team will be traveling to New York City! The women will be playing in a tournament on September 6th and 7th at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, approximately 30 minutes outside of NYC. This will provide us with quality opponents outside the Western PA region, as well as a memorable trip to see the sights of a major US city. We plan on visiting major US cities every couple of years to provide our players with the best possible experiences on and off the field. In addition to seeing major cities within the US we also plan to continue our international trips having previously visited Ireland/England in 1999, Ireland in 2004, Italy in 2008, and Brazil in 2012. Our next trip will be in 2016 and is undecided where we will be going.  

 

2013 Season Updates

As our 2013 season continues we now stand at a 4-4-1 record heading into conference play at home on Saturday against Franciscan.  We have had a difficult non-conference schedule, competing well with top teams in the region which have prepared us for the start of our conference games.  Our efforts have shown in receiving votes in the NSCAA Great Lakes Regional Rankings this past week!

2013 Season So Far..........

The 2013 season has kicked off and we have had a great start to a very promising season for the Behrend Lions.  Our opening weekend in the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament we played well in two close games against two very experienced teams. 

It is awesome being able to play in the new facility, and for the first season here at home, under the lights!  

Going into the game tonight versus Mount Union, we stand at a 2-2-1 record having a great balance of play from our returning veteran players, as well as young freshman stepping up to the collegiate level very nicely. 

The Behrend Lions are led by Senior captain Sam Vasy with 3 goals and 2 assists, as well as freshman standout Alex Bilka, who has recorded 3 goals and an assist of her own to start the year.  Very positive start for the Behrend Lions thus far and I hope you all follow us throughout our season!
