2014 Spring Play-Date Schedule

The 2014 Spring play-date schedule for the Penn State Behrend Women's Soccer Team will be played on Sunday, April 13th starting at 10AM.  We are very excited going into this Spring season playing against some great local talent. We will be matched up against some very good Division II schools preparing us for next Fall.   Mercyhurst University, Gannon University, Lake Erie College, and the Toronto Lynx from Canada will be in attendance for our play-date.  Above is the attached schedule, and if you're in the area come on out and support us!

2014 PSB ID Clinic on June 29th

This year we will be hosting our 2014 ID Clinic this summer on June 29^th.  This clinic gives you a great opportunity to train in our brand new $4 million turf stadium, compete at a high level, and get coached by Penn State Behrend Head Women’s Soccer Coach Patrick O’Driscoll.  We will only be having one clinic this summer so don’t miss out on this great opportunity!  Four players from the 2014 recruiting class attended and were evaluated at the summer 2013 clinics and will be a part of the Behrend soccer team in the fall.  Hope to see you there!

Penn State Behrend Schedule 2014

Here is the schedule for the Behrend Lions in the upcoming fall 2014 season. We lead off the year with our annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament playing against Oberlin, as well as renewing our rivalry with Baldwin Wallace. One big highlight for the 2014 season includes the trip to New York City. During this trip we will compete against Drew University and Elms College from Massachusetts.  Drew was a NCAA Tournament participant in 2013.  Additionally, we have added regional powerhouse Carnegie Mellon.  This game will be a great test for us at the end of our regular season, as well as providing our team with another great trip to another beautiful city!  Carnegie Mellon is a team consistently in the national top 25, and is one of the best regionally.  We are hoping for great success in 2014 and hope to continue to see great support from our fans and alums!   

2013 Award Winners

The 2013 team award winners were named at our banquet this weekend at Logan House. These awards are voted on by the team. The 2013 award winners are as follows:

MVP: Sam Vasy

Most Improved Player: Rachel Oelbracht

Rookie of the Year: Sammie Pace 

Rookie of the Year: Kiley Ransbury

Scholarship/Leadership: Maddie Monte

Rachel Mueller & Sam Vasy Named to NSCAA All-Region Team

Seniors Rachel Mueller and Sam Vasy have been named to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region Third Team.

It is the first time Mueller and Vasy have earned All-Region honors. Mueller also became the program's first player to earn Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Defender of the Year this season. The two-time All-Conference choice, anchored the defense that allowed 1.17 goals per game and helped the team earn eight shutouts.

Vasy caps her career on the All-Region team after earning All-AMCC accolades three of her four years. The midfielder had her best season with nine goals and six assists for 24 points to be named to the All-Conference first team. Vasy finished her career with 16 goals and 16 assists for 48 points, along with seven game-winning goals.

Mueller and Vasy join the list of Behrend All-Region players that include Stephanie Bowen (2005), Kayla Frost (2009), Valerie Wagner (2012), and Julia Schroeck (2012).
