2013 Season Review



The 2013 season was a banner year for our team. It was a great journey starting at home in the Herb Lauffer Tournament and ending in Ithaca, NY for the NCAA play-offs. We reached almost all of our goals and the players can be very proud of how they represented our program and university this fall. 
Here is our 2013 season review: 
  • 3rd straight AMCC tournament championship and NCAA Tournament berth
  •  2nd consecutive AMCC regular season champions
  • Ranked #8 in in NSCAA Great Lakes Region Poll on November 12, 2013
  • Overall record of 15-6-1
  • Perfect conference regular season of 9-0
  • Lions have won 16 straight regular season AMCC matchups
  • 2nd highest win total in the history of the program with 15
  • 7 players earned AMCC all conference awards which tied for most in conference
  • Led the conference in goals per game (4.11)
  • Team posted a .22 Goals against average, led by Sophomore Goal Keeper Taylor Troyan
  • Lions only allowed 2 goals in the conference, including 7 shutouts
  • Freshman Allyson Lonas led the conference in assists (8)
  • Freshmen Alex Bilka and Samantha Pace led the Lions in goals scored with 13, ranking 4th best single season in Behrend history
  • Senior Rachel Mueller was the first ever player to be named AMCC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year as well as being named Defensive Player of the Year
  • Seniors Rachel Mueller and Sam Vasy both recognized by NSCAA in being named to the Great Lakes All Region team, as well as both being named 1st team all AMCC
  • Head coach Patrick O’Driscoll was named AMCC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season, and currently stands at 114 career wins
