Team building pics from Pre-season!!

The first pic is of the minefield game we played during pre-season.
The players seemed to enjoy this one, perhaps because it gave them a break from some of the harder activities we were doing throughout pre-season!!

This pic is from Sara's restaurant on Presque Isle State Park. We went on the ravine flyer roller coaster prior to this which was much scarier than most of us anticipated but good fun. Then we moved onto Sara's for some getting to know each other games and ice cream.

2013 Updated Schedule

Here is a link to a copy of our 2013 schedule. Game times are now included. We have a scrimmage at home on Wednesday August 28 and then the regular season opens up against Baldwin-Wallace in the annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament. This will be a great weekend with strong teams from Capital University and Carnegie Mellon also in attendance.
Come down and support the team and see our great new facilities!!

AMCC Pre-Season Polls

The Behrend women have been picked as the #1 pre-season team in the AMCC for 2013.
Although it is nice to receive this accolade, the players know it is more important where you end up than where you start!!

A big congratulations to senior team captain Rachel Mueller on being named AMCC pre-season defensive player of the year. See AMCC article below:

2013 WOMEN'S SOCCER
PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

 PENN ST. BEHREND EXPECTED
TO
EXTEND REIGN

The road won't be easy, but two-time defending champion Penn State Behrend has been picked by the conference coaches to make it three in a row (and ninth overall) when the AMCC tournament concludes in early November.  Behrend garnered six first place votes, while last season's runner up Pitt-Bradford earned four.  The two squads are expected to battle for the title again this year.  D'Youville College, #3 in the coaches' poll, will be a threat to both teams.
Pitt-Bradford sophomore forward Maggie Boehler (left) was voted the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year.  Boehler was the Offensive Co-Player of the Year as well as Newcomer of the Year last season.  She helped lead the Panthers to the AMCC finals, scoring 13 goals (5 game winners) and 4 assists.  Behrend senior  defender Rachel Mueller(right) is the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.  Mueller was a first team all-conference selection last season.  She is the defensive leader and team captain of the defending champion Lions entering her senior campaign.

The AMCC kicks off conference play on Saturday, September 28, and the championship will be Saturday, November 9, hosted by the number #1 seed.  The winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Summer Stadium Updates

With only 15 days till the players arrive on-campus for pre-season there have been some nice additions to the soccer stadium over the course of the summer.
The bathrooms and concession stand have both been completed. New landscaping has been added to the stadium walkway and the area behind the pressbox. We also have some new signs both on the hill and the side of the field.
With many night games in 2013, the Behrend stadium will provide a great playing environment for the players as they look to defend the AMCC Championship they won in both 2011 and 2012.
Looking forward to August 18th!!!
