Lions Keep Shutout Streak in Win Over D'Youville

Penn State Behrend kept their shutout streak alive after defeating D'Youville 4-0. Alex Bilka played one of her best games of the season by netting three goals to help the Lions top D'Youville. After a stellar performance from Behrends back-line, PSB extends their shutout streak to four games.

Alex Bilka jumped on the Spartans early by scoring the first goal of the match in the 9th minute of play. A laser pass came from Olivia Belack that crossed along the inside of the penalty box, where Alex Bilka put the pass away for the 1-0 lead. Olivia Belack would then add to the lead by netting another, making the score 2-0 with 25 minutes remaining in the first half. Huge defensive stops came from PSB's back four, only giving the Spartans two shots on goal in the first half. The Lions would walk into halftime with the better of the first half, recording twelve SOG against the Spartans two.

Bilka would continue to strive following halftime. She was able to run at D'Youville defenders creating mismatches and scoring opportunities for the Lions. Out of the fifteen Lions SOG, Bilka would score two more from outside of the penalty box. Both shots ripped past Spartans goal keeper giving the Lions a 4-0 lead with only 20 minutes remaining in the game. PSB would go on to win the game, keeping the Spartans from recording a shot on goal in the second half.

The Lions return to action Saturday at Mt. Aloysius for the final game of the AMCC regular season.
